Community Ed Continues to Re-invest to Improve the Quality of Programs

The time sure does fly by! We are near the halfway point of the school year already.  This winter, Community Ed (CE) will continue to re-invest to improve the quality of our programs. We plan to add Assistant Site Supervisor positions to our Beyond the Bell program. Our goal is to increase the safety, leadership and communication at our before and after school sites. Due to an increase in programming, we will also add a Program Coordinator. This position will oversee all K-12 related programming, such as after-school classes, student groups, summer camps, and intramurals. Existing CE staff will have duties re-shuffled as well, to maximize effectiveness and efficiency. Change is the norm in our district, and this same mantra applies to our CE department!

We have a number of the NEW and FUN learning opportunities for this winter/spring that include: Sport Stacking, TigerLily STEM Friday evening classes, 3-on-3 coed basketball league, Blast the Winter Blues, Photography In A Flash, and Type Up Your Game.

As always, please feel free to contact me. I welcome your feedback on how we can continue to grow Waukee Community Education and better serve our student, families, and community members. Together we create Waukee!
