Welcome to a New School Year!

I hope this note finds you excited about the 2021-22 school year. A new year always brings new opportunities for our students. The students attending Northwest High School have the fortunate opportunity to learn in a new environment, and the district has also enhanced the environments at several existing elementary and secondary buildings. Construction is constant in our district, but it allows us to better serve an ever-growing student population.

Regardless of the building where learning takes place, the most important piece of the student experience is the quality of our teachers. Our teaching staff have the greatest impact on our students’ learning experiences. Our teachers made the impossible possible last school year. We should continue to thank them this new school year, and every school year, for what they provide for our students.

In our Community Education department, we continue to offer a mix of classes led by fantastic district teachers as well as community partners. We have listened to you, our customers, who have expressed interest in expanded after-school classes. You will see that we have a wide variety of classes offered throughout all our elementary buildings, ranging from two-week sessions to the entire school year. We hope you find something engaging for your student!

As always, please feel free to contact me. I welcome your feedback on how we can continue to grow Waukee Community Education to better serve our students, families, and community members.
