The Waukee High School Volleyball Team played its annual Pink Out game on October 1. The team sold “Block Out Cancer” shirts to raise funds for Can Do Cancer. Thanks to the support of Warrior Nation they were able to win the game and raise $2,717.15 to help an amazing cause.

In another City of Waukee-Waukee APEX partnership, City Council Member Larry Lyon (second from left in first photo) spent time today with the APEX Construction Leadership program members. Lyon started the class at his Remodelworks & Mr. Fix It shop to discuss structure design and loads. Waukee Community School District graduate Tanner Peard (far left in first photo) led the group on a tour of the future UnityPoint Pediatric Physical Therapy offices. Peard is a Project Supervisor for Edge Commercial. He pointed out the various elements of the project and reviewed the plan set with with the students.
