Out of an abundance of caution, the American Lung Association has postponed the Fight For Air Climb Des Moines for the safety of our participants, volunteers, staff and partners. As soon as we have the new date secured, we will post it.

 

The American Lung Association in Iowa is looking for 200-300 day of event volunteers to help us with the 2020 Fight for Air Climb on Sunday, March 29th. Volunteers will be needed 6:30am – 2:00 pm on the day of the Climb.

The Fight For Air Climb will have 1,500 climbers walk or run up the stairs of four prominent buildings in downtown Des Moines to benefit the millions of individuals living with lung disease. We will need volunteers to help with the following positions: gear check, registration, line monitors, guides, stairwell cheerleaders, and after-party celebration. Volunteer assignments will be made at the event.

The tentative schedule is:

6:15-6:30 AM – Arrive and check in at the Wellmark YMCA, 501 Grand Ave., Des Moines.  Continental breakfast will be served, volunteer t-shirts and nametags will be handed out.

6:45 AM – Volunteer briefing at the Wellmark YMCA.

7:00 AM – Individuals will be escorted to their volunteer positions.

Parking is available in the city garage located at on 5th Ave and Keo Way (enter on 5th Ave). Street parking is also available. Volunteers may enter the Wellmark YMCA on the skywalk or street level.
