ENGin is a non-profit organization that pairs Ukrainian youth with English speakers for free online conversation practice and cross-cultural connection. Ukrainian students are ages 13-30, and volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Volunteers commit to a one-hour virtual meeting with their partner each week, for at least 10-12 weeks. Training is provided, but volunteers do not need to teach English or grammar. Just chat with your Ukrainian student!
Our mission is to improve Ukrainian youth’s spoken English and intercultural skills, leading to greater academic and professional opportunities. Each volunteer-student pairing is a thread tying Ukraine to the world, and will help create a generation of English-fluent, culturally competent young Ukrainians to rebuild our nation.
[Please note that student volunteers will need to track their service hours through ENGin and then the Silver Cord Program to get credit for this activity.]
