Gary’s Ride is a family friendly ride for all ages. You don’t have to ride if you don’t want to and still join in on the food/beverage and fun. This ride funds MercyOne Richard Deming Cancer Center for terminal brain cancer patients. My husband Gary was an avid bicyclist and he passed May 17, 2021 from Glioblastoma a very aggressive and terminal brain cancer. There is no cure, nor remission for these people. Their length of life once diagnosed is approximately 8 months. So, this ride is important not just to me, but, for all those people and their families that will be affected by terminal brain cancer. We need to find ways to enhance the patients quality of life, to raise awareness of this terminal cancer, to bring more clinical trials in Des Moines for patients and one day a cure!!!
