We have spots available for individuals or groups to work together taking orders, scooping ice cream, mixing shakes, and serving up one of the hottest Fair Foods - the Minty Moo Parfait. Each timeslot needs 25 volunteers to work a 4 to 5 hour shift. Volunteers receive a t-shirt, hat, and free admission to the fair for the day! Oh, and did we mention free ice cream? Roles are indoors in air conditioning and include scooping ice cream, mixing shakes, pouring milk, restocking cups, straws, napkins, order runners, and running the cash register.

Monday - Thursday: Morning Shift: 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Mid-Day Shift: 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Evening Shift: 5:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Friday - Sunday: Morning Shift: 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Mid-Day Shift: 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Evening Shift: 5:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa has an exciting partnership with Midwest Dairy, and we are thrilled to have a presence at the 2023 Iowa State Fair! This partnership supports our mission through a generous donation and portions of the ice cream sales stay local, funding critical programs at GSGI. However, this is only possible with the help of more than 800 volunteers during the fair!

We’re seeking individual volunteers as well as teams of friends and supporters! Proceeds from this partnership stay 100% local and fund critical Girl Scout programs across central Iowa.
