Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease with no cure that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. The mutation causes a build-up of thick, sticky mucus in the body, often resulting in a high propensity of bacterial infections resulting in hospitalizations and, possibly, premature death. The Great Strides walk is an outdoor event that allows for those affected by the disease to gather in a single place (individuals cannot gather indoors due to potential bacterial/viral cross-infection) and celebrate.
Responsibilities would include setting up tents/stations, placing signage, tear down after the event, and potentially handing out food and beverages.
