We are looking for individuals who either have experience, or are open to, working with young people with exceptionalities, including sensory sensitivities and those on the Autism spectrum to serve as ushers and guides for this theatrical performance. We aim to make this experience a welcoming one for all, with considerations in place for those who might not be comfortable with traditional theatre expectations. At a sensory-friendly performance, the theatre lights will not be brought all the way down, the music and sound will be minimized, audience members will be invited to move around as needed, and fidgets and experiential props will be provided. Volunteers for this event should be warm, welcoming, and open to the variety of ways our audience may experience and engage with the performance.
