World Refugee Day at-home opportunity

Details

We are looking for volunteers to assist with World Refugee Day, celebrating refugee and immigrants’ contributions in Iowa. Volunteers will make origami butterflies and hot glue them to cardboard for display at various public offices and buildings in central Iowa. These will be on display beginning June 1st through June 30th. Butterflies are a symbol of migration because they cross borders and travel in order to survive, similar to humans. Lutheran Services in Iowa and the Refugee Alliance of Central Iowa are spearheading this project. Paper and cardboard will be supplied as well as instructions for creating the butterflies. This project requires no artistic abilities.

Fill out the form below or email meghan.lindell@lsiowa.org to get started!
