We are looking for volunteers to sit at our YESS donation drop off site, handing out our wish list and thanking people who bring donations. We are set up inside Merle Hay Mall between Old Navy and Foot Locker. This is a relaxed but important volunteer opportunity!
When volunteers arrive at the YESS storefront, they will call the mall public safety phone number (515-276-9549), and a safety officer will come to unlock the door and turn on the lights. There is a table and chairs set up for volunteers, and the donation bin is in the front window. If a visitor has more specific questions, volunteers can direct them to the YESS website or Facebook page to contact us. Once finished with their shift, volunteers will call mall public safety again to lock up.

YESS provides a safety net of programs designed to help kids when they need it most. YESS is home to Iowa’s largest emergency shelter for kids, providing a safe haven and support to more than 800 children (newborn through age 17) per year. In addition, the agency cares for hundreds of children in the community to keep them safe and healthy in their own homes.
